About Us

Pick A Brew started as a group of coffee enthusiasts who love to visit cafes around the world and explore different cultures and taste of coffee. We mingle around with coffee enthusiasts around the world, exchanging ideas and knowledge about coffee. Thus, we developed our love and interest in hand brew coffee.

We believe that the best hand brew coffee should be made from the best coffee bean, equipment, and most importantly, passion in making a great cup of coffee. We explored and we are not satisfied with the current quality of the coffee beans in the market because we are super picky with the quality of coffee beans.

After exploring a few coffee farms, we met great coffee farmers from Sumatra, Indonesia. Those farmers are very enthusiastic about cultivating coffee, especially in Gayo and Mandheling.

Their Arabica Coffee plantation is about 1300-1800m above sea level, has less exposure to sunlight, and more nutritions with an optimum time to grow.

We also met some passionate processors who process coffee with passion and knowledge, to produce the highest quality coffee.

By using selective pick, they only choose the best berries out there. By hand sorting and processing the berries with different methods (fully wash, semi wash, dry and Luwak), they showed us how strict and picky they are with the berries.

Our exploration doesn’t stop there, we visited several certified roastmasters who use extraordinary machinery to get precise results.

They roast the beans by conduction, convection, and radiation, to get even heating on the beans, which produce a smooth surface with less crack on the coffee beans. Hence, the beans produced have a uniform quality and strong aroma.

After we experienced the “Farm to Cup” process in Sumatra, we discovered what we like and we found what coffee enthusiasts would love to enjoy.

Every single process is always maintained to ensure the freshness and taste in our cup.

Pick A Brew wants to bring the Farm to Cup coffee experience to the pickiest coffee enthusiasts around the world.
